How to Keep Your Babe Quiet and Entertained at a Restaurant

I’m not big on devices. Don’t get me wrong, I love to sit and watch a movie with my kids and I’m happy to use it for entertainment when I need it (which is a lot), but when it comes to devices in particular I’m pretty specific on when I allow her to use them. One of those times is when we are out at a restaurant. I prefer to have her do something that’s a bit more interactive with other people at the table to learn how to be social during an outing and also be able to keep her entertained until her food comes. I started putting together these handy little “fun packs” and quickly found that I had so many of them ready to go in the diaper bag, in the closet or in the trunk of my car. I may forget to grab a pack of wipes, but I’ll almost always have some etertainment in my bag for my littles….Easily accessed whenever I need it!

The key to the perfect fun pack is to pick things that your kids don’t normally play with. This is such a life saver when traveling! Play-doh is something I started putting into each pack because it’s a little messy but on a table at a restaurant it doesn’t matter and it’s something she doesn’t play with too often at home, so it really keeps her attention!

I pack everything up in a large ziplock bag and throw it in the diaper bag. It’s that easy! Below are some of my favorite fun pack items, but you can really do anything you want!
